Taylor Swift Asks Teen Battling Cancer To Be Her ACMs Date (HollywoodLife)
Kevin McGuire's one wish was to take Taylor Swift to his prom. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to make it that day...but she did ask him out on another date!
This story is quite the tearjerker and makes us adore Taylor Swift more (if that was even possible). The 21-year-old singing sensation learned about Kevin McGuire -- an 18-year-old boy with Leukemia, who dreamed of taking her to prom -- and offered him the date of a lifetime. "Kevin, I'm so sorry but I won't be able to make it to your prom," Taylor wrote on Facebook Feb. 24. "But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up.. Would you be my date? Love, Taylor" When Kevin, a varsity football player at Sterling High School in Somerdale, N.J., heard the news he could barely speak. “I don’t know what else to say,” he told the local news. “I was just trying not to throw up.” Pending he's healthy enough, Kevin will attend the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards with Taylor in Las Vegas April 1. “I have cancer.
